Beneath the Surface - Jelle Korevaar

Marine organisms like mussels and seagrass play a vital role in ocean ecosystems. In this exhibition, kinetic artist Jelle Korevaar brings these fascinating creatures to life. His work uses recycled plastic that is sorted and processed in sheltered workshops. Some of the plastic comes from WUR laboratories. Ironically, plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats to ocean life. The exhibition demonstrates the beauty we can create from plastic waste, but also highlights the consequences of plastic consumption in the lab.
